Avamed Synergy receives funding from the Valencian Regional Government to develop a new artificial intelligence project for bariatric surgery

The biotechnology company Avamed Synergy has been awarded funding by the Valencian Regional Government to develop a project entitled “Experimental development of an artificial intelligence model for the segmentation of intestinal loops in bariatric procedures”

The main objective of this initiative is to develop an advanced Artificial Intelligence model capable of improving the identification and segmentation of intestinal loops during bariatric procedures. This innovation will optimise surgical precision, facilitate decision-making during the procedure, reduce risks associated with the procedure and contribute to a significant improvement in both the quality of care and clinical outcomes.

With this project, Avamed Synergy is reinforcing its commitment to research, development and technological innovation in the surgical field, making progress in the integration of Artificial Intelligence-based solutions that support healthcare professionals and promote safer, more efficient and personalised surgery.

This initiative is publicly funded under the grants scheme promoted by the Valencian Regional Government and is co-financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument, as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, contributing to the strengthening of the innovative and technological ecosystem of the Valencian Community.
